Cannoncini (pods) of crunchy and buttery puff pastry filled with a rich, velvety pastry cream
A crunchy, buttery pie bursting with rich, creamy pastry cream. Here's everything I love (and need) about pastry: delicious finger licking (seriously!), easy to prepare (I used frozen puff pastry to make it easier)
* Ingredients:
+To prepare the pastry cream (Cream Pastesera):
° 3 egg yolks
° 3 tablespoons (30 g) flour
° 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar
° 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
° 235 ml milk
+For the cannon:
° 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed (about 8 ounces, 225 grams)
° 50 grams of sugar
° 1 egg (for egg wash)
° powdered sugar for decoration

* preparation:
Begin by make pastry cream:
Heaat miilk to it is hot (not boiling).In saucepan, whisk egg yolks, sugar, vanilla extract & flour to light also fluffy.
Whisking milk little at a time, making sure there are no lumps.
Placing saucepan on medium heat also stir constantly to it slowly boils. The cream thick, so be careful not to let it stiick to bottom. Reduce heat & let it cooking about some more min, to it reaches wanted thick .
Pour cream glass container, covering with plastic wrap & let to cool. Refrigerate for at least an 1 h .
Dough horns :
Preheaat oven 400°F (200°C)
Sprinkling a little sugar on counter & pie dough & roll it to rectangle about 9 * 12 inches.
Cutting 12 tranches (for 1 inch thick). An methods to do this: cutting dough to 3 parts, & & every part to 4 slices.
Rollng every strip upo horn template (cone shaped). The dough should overlap (for half length).
Place on a baking tray lined with parchment with the side (the end of the strip) down.Whisk an egg with tsp water. Gently brush each piece of dough with the egg mixture.
Make sure to continue the egg washing away from pan. It will be difficult to removing pastry horn from mold time it is baked.
Baking at 400 F (200 C) for 15-20 min to surface is golden.Let them cool for a while andamp; carefully remove them from the mold.If the dough sticks to the mold, you can lower the mold slightly (to reduce the circumference) and gently flip it inside the dough until it bursts. Before serving, fill with cream.Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired andamp; appreciate!
