My husband and I have remodeled quite a few houses, but I'm still waiting to find something really cool to knock down walls and rip up old floors. Sure, we found some old beer bottles and some cool newspaper articles between the walls, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, for a family, it was quite the opposite!
Reddit user Yamaha234 posted that while tearing up old carpets in their house, his in-laws discovered a giant hand-painted Monopoly board underneath. How fun would it have been to play life-size Monopoly?
A commenter on the article added: "I showed this to my wife, and she reminded me that there's a whole neighborhood near us, built in the mid-1950s, that has game boards painted or tiled on their basements. Seems to have been a selling point or something. Who knew? See the photo below for another time a Reddit user found a painted Monopoly board under his rug!
While I'm sure the in-laws have picked out their new flooring, I can only imagine their surprise to find a life-size Monopoly board under an ordinary-looking rug. Do you think they decided to play before covering? It definitely makes for a fun story!
