Smothered Pork Chops



*Ingredients

°1 ml (1/4 tsp) salt
°2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) pepper
°4 slices bacon, cut into 1.25 cm (1/2 in.) pieces
°1 large yellow onion, cut into 1.25 cm (1/2 in.)
°2 clove garlic
°375 ml (1 1/2 cups) chicken broth
°10 ml (2 tsp.
°10 ml (2 tsp) Worcestershire sauce
°30 ml (2 tbsp.) water
°30 ml (2 tbsp.) cornstarch
°15 ml (1 tbsp.) cider vinegar

*Steps

Spraying 4-quart (3.8 L) slow cooker with cooking spray.

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels; sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.

Heat a 30-cm (12-inch) skillet over medium-high heat. Add bacon; cook and stir until meat is browned. Use  slott spoon, transfere bacon to slow cooker. Increase skillet temperature to medium-high; add pork chops to bacon drippings in skillet. Cook for about 4 minutes on each side or until each side is golden brown. Transfer to slow cooker.

Add the onion to the skillet. Cooking for about 4 min Add garlic; cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Transfer to slow cooker. Adding broth, sauce & bay leaves. Cover; cook on low for 2 hours or until pork chops are cooked through but still juicy.

Remove chops and place on serving platter; cover with foil to keep warm. Increase slow cooker temperature to high.

In a small bowl, beat the water, cornstarch and vinegar with a whisk. Stirring to liquid in slow cooker. Cover; cook 20 to 25 minutes or until mixture thickens slightly.

Pour sauce over pork chops; serve immediately.
